Financial Literacy - Family Budget

Step 2: Family Tree vrs. Money Tree

Yes, children are money guzzlers, but that’s why God made them so cute--to help make up for all the troubles they bring!  And they really do bring you all the love and joy in the world.  So, how many children do you have? While this method is not recommended in real life, for this project, the number will be determined by a roll of the dice.

Information will go on your Family Budget Presentation.

 How many children?

    1. You will roll one die to figure out how many children you have. The number you roll will determine the amount of kids you have. Don’t worry. The most children you can have is five, because if you roll a six, it will be switched to five kids. Soooooooooo, what are the odds you end up with five children?

Let's find out how old your children are!

    1. Roll the dice and add the numbers together. That is the age of one of your children. Roll the dice again and follow the same procedure for each child.  (Yes, it is possible to end up with twins, triplets, quadruplets, and even quintuplets!)

    2. While you didn't have any say in the number of children nor their ages, you do get to choose their names and their sex.
