File Explorer

File Explorer is a basic file management tool you can use to find, create, rename, and delete files on your computer. It also allows you to copy, print, move, and manage files. A Windows folder is a "container" you use to store your documents and files. Just like manila folders are used to store information in a file cabinet, Windows uses folders to store your files on the network drive.

By the end of this lesson, students should be able to:

  • Discuss File Explorer and My Computer
  • Understand Windows and computer maintenance teminology
  • Navigate between files, folders, and drives
  • Move files and folders
  • Copy files and folders
  • Select more than one file or folder
  • Download, save, and use files from the Internet
