How do we get to the theme park? Find the directions and determine the cost of driving to the theme park.

1. Open MS Excel and create a spreadsheet containing information needed to figure the cost of driving to your theme park.

2. You need to know how many miles it is to your theme park so, go to Google Maps or MapQuest and put in the directions from the school to the theme park. The school address is 306 Schoolcrest, Clare, MI 48617.

3. Put your total miles to the theme park in a cell in Excel.

4. You also need to know the price of gas. You can use the average price of gas in Michigan even though you may go through different states. Find the average price of gasoline in Michigan at michigangasprices.com. Insert that price into another cell in Excel.

5. Assume the car you are driving gets 20 miles per gallon. Add that (20) to another cell in Excel

6. How much money will you need for gas? Figure out how many gallons of gas is needed to get to the theme park. Then, how much will it cost? This formula should be a cell in Excel. Remember the order of operations!

7. Show Mrs. Cleary the formula.
